^ THE NOTES
A rhythm game where you can play anything you want. Don't be fooled by the notes shown on screen. That's just advice. As long as you stay on the beat you are golden. YOU SHOULD PLAY WHATEVER YOU FEEL LIKE. IT IS A GAME AND MAYBE IT'LL SOUND BETTER THE WAY YOU PLAY IT

If you do, however, want some extra points, you can try to stick to the C major scale (that just means ignore the notes with  #s). Find one note in the scale like C or A and just stick to it for the whole song. You wouldn't be the first bass player who does that.
If you want more points you can try to play the A minor pentatonic A, C, D, E, G

If you REALLY wanna max out your points you will have to get to know your audience

The priest only enjoys proper songs. Follow the notes on screen as much as possible if you want to keep them happy but for some songs that may become harder than it's worth.

The noble likes chromatic movement (so you move from between adjacent keys, like B to C or E to F ) If you get a bunch of them just alternate between those and they will be happy.
Peasants are disco. They love they octave. Cycle between different keys of the same notes (find two keys with A and switch between them as you play)

If you manage to keep everyone happy it means you might have made a pretty decent bassline. Or the game is bugged or something I dunno.
